Clubs in the Community Day

NAHS members did a great job on the North Springs Clubs in the Community Day! We took on the project of fixing up our school's Champlin Gallery. This involved tons of spackling, sanding, sweeping, painting, etc.! Many hands made the work go surprisingly fast, though. Thanks to everyone who worked on the gallery - it is going to look much improved for the 2010 Juried Show opening soon!

GA NAHS Conference
From Friday the 12th to Sunday the 14th, the North Springs chapter of NAHS was representing at the GA conference (hosted by SCAD and the Savannah Arts Academy). At the conference, we went to workshops, dinners with other students and teachers, listened to speakers, got tours of various facilities, visited Savannah, etc. Eva won a scholarship for an Art History exam taken on Friday.
Unfortunately, Eva, Eden, and Zach also entered art into scholarships, but their art was misplaced during judging (returned later). A good job to them for their efforts, and sorry about the confusion that was out of our hands!
It was a fun weekend - although we missed the snow in Atlanta, we did get to see some rare snow falling in Savannah!

Spalding Elementary Artists
Last week, Eden and Eva went to Spalding Drive Charter Elementary to help Ms. Baker's 1st grade class with a project. The kids had fun decorating a ceramic tray that Ms. Sweat made. Once the tray is fired - I will post a picture. The tray will be up for auction at Spalding Drive Elem.
Great job to the creative kids and Ms. Sweat!
